A woman was swept away after the pond wall she was standing on collapsed in Lake Maninjau, Agam, West Sumatra.

Security camera footage from March 17 captured the incident.

Elnita Mayang, 60, was standing on a section of the wall that broke sending her crashing into the water.

The 60-year-old was later taken to hospital after being found 1 kilometre away from the pond 30 minutes later.

She received intensive care for a day and is now in a stable condition.

Irman, an emergency officer of the Agam Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency, said that 20 tons of fish were also washed away.

At that time, Mayang and his men were sorting fish to be harvested, but suddenly the pond wall where she was standing collapsed.

The victim fell along with the debris and was swept away by the pool current.

Mayang was found at a distance of 1 km from the place where he fell 30 minutes later in a safe condition with injuries.

The victim was taken to hospital and on Friday afternoon her health improved after receiving intensive medical care for a day.

The emergency officer of the Agam Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Irman, said that in addition to washing the victims away, the current that broke into the pond also washed away 20 tons of fish to be harvested.

"It happened shortly after heavy rains flushed the Maninjau lake area," Irman added.
