An art exhibition was held inside an abandoned shopping mall where hundreds of fish now live on the flooded ground in Bangkok, Thailand.

The installation artwork entitled New World x Old Town Part 2 told the story of the Bang Lamphu neighborhood through light and sound design at the New World mall, a once-famous and now abandoned department store in the Phra Nakhon district.

The artwork, part of the Bangkok Design Week 2022 in February, aimed to communicate the neighborhood identity in the past and present through the perspective of outsiders.

Nine pieces were showcased on the first and second floors of the exhibit, while a 10-minute highlight at the end of each tour explained the origin and meaning behind each artwork.

The New World x Old Town Part 2 exhibition is a collaboration among the Faculty of Architecture and Music from Silpakorn University, HUI Team Design, Saturate Designs, Saeng Pla Gob group, and independent designers.
