Footage shows enormous Godzilla-like monitor lizards walking around a park in front of amazed visitors on March 18 in Thailand.

The reptiles live in the Lumphini Park in Bangkok where locals and tourists can watch them glide through the ponds and stalk the grass verges.

Footage shows how the animals - normally known for their aggressive behaviour - have become so used to visitors that they barely flinch when people stop to pose for selfies with them.

Officials estimated in 2016 there were more than 400 Asian water monitor lizards living in the park and efforts to control their population have been unsuccessful.

The lizards have since become a tourist attraction in their own right, with holidaymakers often including a walk around the park - dubbed Bangkok's Central Park because of its central location in the city surrounded by high rise buildings - on their itinerary during their trip to Bangkok.
