A truck drivers' strike in Spain continued into its tenth day today (March 23) amid ongoing anger at high fuel costs.

This footage shows the scene in Madrid where tuckers drove at slow speeds in convoy from Wanta Metropolitan Stadium and along the M-40 motorway which circles the Spanish capital.

The protest started a week ago as a small demonstration but has snowballed into a bigger protest that is now causing supply chain disruption across the country.

Truckers gathered during the tenth day of a national transportation strike starting at the Wanda Metropolitan Stadium and making a slow march in the M-40 highway. Truck drivers are protesting against their precarious working conditions as well as against the increase in fuel prices, accentuated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Truckers gathered with more than 600 trucks and concrete mixers and will maintain an indefinite strike until they reach an agreement with the government. The strike is causing supply chain disruptions across the country.
