This is the shocking moment a garden hoe flew off a truck and smashed into an oncoming car's windshield.

The tool came loose from a 10-wheeler truck that was carrying logs across a highway when a family's sedan approached behind in Sisaket province, Thailand on March 17.

Father Nirun Seehawong slammed the brakes and swerved his car away from the truck which caused two of the car's wheels to explode.

Nirun said: 'I was startled when it happened so fast. My son was also in the car so the whole experience was very scary.'

The truck driver did not stop after the incident and it was unclear whether he was aware of the incident that happened behind. Nirun reported to the police who were still looking for the truck driver.

The sedan had to be towed into a repair shop after officers arrived as two of its wheels were damaged in the incident.
