Satisfying ASMR video shows giant gong being made with hammers
Satisfying ASMR footage shows craftsmen making a giant gong by smashing its body with hammers.
The four-metre-wide instrument was being prepared as an offering at a Buddhist temple in Ubon Ratchathani province, Thailand.
The giant nipple gong was made from different metals. It was first welded together then shaped using hammers before being painted, coated, and delivered to a religious temple.
A one-metre-wide gong costs around 1,600 THB (36 GBP) with prices reaching up to 129,000 THB (2,910 GBP) for a giant gong with a five-metre diameter.
Manufacturer Sumalee Chansoong, 39, said: ‘It takes about two weeks to complete a gong with a diameter of four metres. Two people take care of the welding, five men do the smashing, and two more do the painting.
‘We make more than ten gongs every month. Most of our customers buy gongs for Buddhist temples, I have customers from all over the country and sometimes even from Laos and Myanmar.’
