Thailand's only African elephant celebrated her ninth birthday party with a giant vegetable cake.

Footage shows the young jumbo named Sima enjoying her treat for the special occasion in Nakhon Ratchasima province, Thailand on March 23.

Staff also sang her a happy birthday song and was given a refreshing bath while excited students lined up to have a glimpse.

The baby jumbo was born to an African elephant father named Af and a mother elephant named Jaew. She is presently the only African elephant in the country residing in Korat zoo.

The African elephant is the largest mammal in the world with large ears and tusks in both males and females. Female African elephants reach their reproductive years at about 10 years of age, have gestational periods of about 22 months, and give birth to one calf at a time.
