Footage shows Boeing 737-800 planes grounded at Bangkok Airport today following the China Eastern crash.

Dozens of flights were cancelled at the Don Mueang International Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport while carriers checked the planes.

The five companies were low-cost carriers Nok Air, Thai Lion Air, Thai Air, Thai Summer Airways and cargo company K-Mile Air.

The crash in Guangxi province in southern China killed all 132 people onboard when the plane nosedived into a mountainside on March 21.

Suthipong Kongpool, Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), said airlines operating in the country have suspended the use of 106 planes.

He said: 'A notice has been made to five Thai airlines that operate with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, to carry out inspections, surveillance and closely monitor flight operations. If any abnormalities are found, they need to report them.'

Mr. Suthipong said officials are closely monitoring the results of the investigation.

He added: 'All aircraft operating normally must have a Certificate of Airworthiness, which is valid for three years and must be re-examined all the time, but in this case it can be a more complicated matter that requires a thorough investigation with the manufacturer.'
