Student, 21, arrested after boasting about how much money she makes on OnlyFans in Indonesia
A student has been arrested after boasting about how much money she makes from selling explicit pictures on OnlyFans in Indonesia.
Gusti Ayu Dewanti, 21, known to fans as Dea, appeared on a podcast on March 9 where she spoke about working on the controversial site.
The would-be model bragged that her explicit photos and videos had earned her 'tens of millions of rupiah' thanks to hundreds of loyal followers on the platform.
Gusti said the amount, which converts to around 1,000 USD a month, was just 'pocket money', as she still gets money from her parents to help her study.
She said: 'It's just cosplay. I'm still a student. I get more money from my mum than from Onlyfans.
'People can say whatever they want, but I'm indifferent, even though I'm hurt and sad. I'm just trying to keep my mind, keep my mental stability.'
The controversial podcast was broadcast on a YouTube channel to millions of subscribers. However, some shocked locals in the hardline Muslim country complained.
Officers said they found Dea's explicit videos during a 'cyber patrol' and she was arrested in the Malang City area of East Java, Indonesia, on March 24.
Dea's home was raided and she was taken to the capital city of Jakarta to be questioned on March 24 where she admitted to 'making the immoral photos and videos'.
Police said Dea had 'deliberately distributed immoral photos and videos for money'.
Jakarta Metro Jaya Police head of public relations Commissioner E Zulpan said: 'The person admitted to having made the immoral photos and videos.
'Some photos were made intentionally to earn money by distributing them to OnlyFans social media.'
Director of Special Criminal Investigation Commissioner Auliansyah Lubis said Dea was caught on the illegal activity while they were doing a 'cyber patrol'.
He added: 'We have arrested the person after hearing about and seeing her OnlyFans page. She was caught as a result of cyber patrol.'
Commissioner Auliansyah added that she was arrested 'in connection with a p*rnography case'.
He said: 'Dea was arrested in connection with a p*rnography case. We will be adding more details further into the investigation.'
Police in Indonesia - where p*rnography is Illegal - have previously acted swiftly to arrest women known to be working on the site.
Another OnlyFans model named Siskaeee was arrested last December for allegedly filming a sex video at the Yogyakarta International Airport in Java province.
Indonesia passed a broad law banning p*rnography in 2008. The P*rnography Law outlaws p*rnography, defined as 'man-made sexual materials in the form of drawings, sketches, illustrations, photographs, text, voice, sound, moving pictures, animation, cartoons, poetry, conversations and gestures'.
