A reptile expert from Indonesia caught a deadly cobra with his bare hands recently and removed it from a home.

According to reports, the terrified homeowner called in the experts after seeing the reptile cross the floor to the bathroom.

Footage captured on March 26 in the village of Baso-Agam in West Sumatra showed the rescuer deftly catching the large snake and placing it in a bag.

The cobra was later released in a nearby natural habitat.

Jumbo cobra entered the kitchen and surprised the local homeowner in Indonesia.

The B-Reptanic reptile-lovers community called in to catch that the venomous reptile.

Experienced team managed to catch the cobra's tail with their bare hands, then take it to a wider area.

It took about five minutes to tame the cobra to catch the head of the snake, which is large as it is more than one meter long.

B-Reptanic officer, Waldi BW, said the homeowner was shocked when she saw the snake crossing the floor to the bathroom while they were cooking in the kitchen.

"We who received the report immediately went to the location, because the reporter was scared. I didn't even have time to use personal protective equipment to catch the snake," Waldi BW said.

Meanwhile, apart from being in a hurry, Waldi admitted to deliberately catching cobras with his bare hands and asked his team to film the catch process for education, showing how to safely catch cobras and without hurting the snake.

The catched cobra is put in sacks, then taken to the reptile lovers secretariat for treatment.

According to him, the spray cobra has a deadly venom, and if it hits the eye it can result in blindness.

When catching cobras, someone must wear a blindfold and boots.
