A giant elephant was spotted with a herd and with a porcupine spine stuck into its trunk in Sri Lanka's North Central Province on March 27. The incident took place in Kalawewa National Park near Galkiriyagama.

Visuals feature an elephant trembling and trying to remove the porcupine quill from its trunk while grazing with its herd. However, the jumbo is unable to do so and drifts away with the spine stuck to its body.

The elephants often stray away from their corridor due to a lack of subsistence. They come out in the open and encounter several creatures, leading to such scenarios.
