This is the moment a driver narrowly escaped being killed when his vehicle was crushed by a reversing digger.

The man was driving past the construction site when the backhoe started backing up in Buriram province, northeast Thailand, on March 3.

The tractor's operator apparently did not notice the passing farm work, whose small agricultural vehicle could barely be seen in the mirrors.

The motorist, Suan Aonchawee, jumped off and fled into the roadside bushes as the tractor flattened the smaller vehicle.

Suan said: "Luckily, I jumped out just in time. I think it happened because my vehicle is short and small so the tractor driver didn't see me."
