Bookworms browsed through hundreds of booths today as Thailand started its 50th National Book Fair.

Avid readers flocked to the Bang Sue Central Station in Bangkok's Chatuchak District to search for bargains from nearly 600 booths as more than 200 printing houses in Thailand sold their titles at discounted prices.

The fair, which was organised by the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand (PUBAT), is divided into six zones: general books, foreign-language books, old books, children's books, comics, and educational materials.

Various exhibits, panels, forums, and lectures will also be held.

PUBAT President Thipsuda Sinchawarnwat said the COVID-19 control measures will be implemented during the event. Before entering, visitors are required to have their temperature checked, wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

The book fair will run from March 26 to April 6, 2022, from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm 2022 at the Bang Sue Central Station in Bangkok.
