NFTs were displayed alongside traditional paintings and sculptures at a digital art festival in Thailand.

More than 1,300 modern and traditional art pieces were showcased at the first Thailand Digital Arts Festival in Bangkok on March 20.

Local and foreign artists, as well as online celebrities and influencers, took part in the event at the Iconsiam in Bangkok from March 5 to 20.

National bank Kasikorn, who created Coral - a non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace for Thai artists - also joined the event.

Vice Minister Poramet Ngampichet, from the ruling military regime's Ministry of Culture, said: 'The Thailand Digital Arts Festival 2022 provides a perfect opportunity for art and technology to merge as one, and to transform physical artworks into digital assets.

'This platform will help create greater opportunities for artists and art creators like never before, in this face-pacing digital world.'
