This is the jaw-dropping moment a British thrill-seeker hangs from the rafters of the 350-feet-high San Siro stadium in Milan – without any restraints to stop him from falling.

Adrenaline junkie Adam Lockwood, 20, filmed himself dangling above the concrete concourse after scaling his way to the top of the sports ground, home to AC Milan and Inter, on March 29.

He shows no fear as he risks his life hanging from metal bars at dizzying heights, using only his arms to pull himself back up.

Lockwood said: “I just enjoy looking down and seeing my whole body suspended above whatever it is I’m hanging from.

“The only problem with this was the bars were covered in thick dust which made it a little slippery, but nothing bad.

“Free climbing for me is a chance to prove myself, to myself, not to anyone else, only myself, a chance to have my body and my mind working perfectly together.

“I feel some emotions that I can’t get with anything else, it’s an unbelievable feeling and every time a climb gets harder the feelings get greater.”

Lockwood, from Manchester, has enjoyed climbing since he was a child and began free climbing buildings and structures as a teenager.

He was previously pictured hanging from the arm of a 600-foot construction crane in Benidorm, while completely naked.

The climber often trespasses to gain access to such dangerous locations including the 472-foot high Torre Agbar tower in Barcelona, Spain, and the 1,115ft-tall Plomin power station in Croatia.

“I started climbing around four years ago, slowly making my way up higher things and more difficult things,” he said.

“I’ve been having crazy experiences throughout. It’s been my whole life since I was 16 and I don’t want to change that.

“I went to the San Siro stadium two years ago when I had the idea to hang off the bar,” he said.

“When I went back there, I took my last day as an opportunity to do it finally. I didn’t plan it, I just got started when I got there, it was simple.

“I’ve hung off things ten times the height of this, the feeling is the same, nothing much really.”

The San Siro stadium, formally known as Stadio Giuseppe Meazza has a seating capacity of 80,018, making it one of the largest stadiums in Europe.

But despite facing almost certain death if he was to fall, Lockwood doesn’t believe his actions are dangerous.

He said: “I don’t see what I do as dangerous, I think if it were as dangerous as people make out, I would have been injured or killed years ago.

“It’s the same as driving, accidents happen but that’s usually due to other people.

“When I’m climbing it’s me against me. If I fall, that’s on me, but I never do anything I’m not physically or mentally prepared for and I never will, so I think it’s incredibly safe.

“I have no fear of heights, since I was a baby I loved climbing things and doing scary stupid stuff, it’s no different now as an adult - or a big kid.”

Lockwood's stunts have previously gotten him into trouble when a court banned him from climbing tall buildings, which he later breached and narrowly escaped jail.

But despite his brush with the law, he refuses to give up his dangerous hobby.

Lockwood added: “I’m just trying to prove to myself that I can do what I set my mind to.

“What I do is so special to me and I can and will not give that up no matter what laws there are or how dangerous people claim it to be.

“I am who I am and that’s not going to change with people’s perspective of me.”
