A cheeky stray dog was caught on camera stealing a man's shoe which he had left outside his home in Thailand.

The canine burglar was part of a pack of four mutts that had wandered outside the home of Nopparat Samit, 43, in Loei province.

CCTV footage taken before sunrise on March 27 shows the sneaky pooch sniffing at the pair of sneakers placed atop a small plastic cabinet before grabbing one shoe and trotting off with its friends.

Nopparat woke up the next day and the sneaker with its other pair missing. Curious, he checked the CCTV footage and was surprised to discover that his belongings had been stolen by the street dogs at two in the morning.

Despite the theft, he said he felt relieved that there were no robbers in the neighbourhood.

He said: ‘I thought there was a shoe thief in the neighborhood as whenever I leave my footwear outside, a pair or two would mysteriously vanish the next day.

‘I am relieved that the thieves are only the dog pack in the community. From now on, I will store the shoes inside my house.’
