Footage posted online yesterday (April 1), shows a strike on an oil storage facility in the southern city of Belgorod, Russia. The city distances 40km from the border of Ukraine.

Russia accused Ukraine of carrying out the airstrike, but a Ukrainian security official denied attacking the fuel depot. If confirmed, this would be the first airstrike on Russian soil since the invasion began on February 24.

International media outlets have yet been able to verify the incident.

Two Ukrainian Mi-24 helicopters passed at low altitude and launched a missile attack on the Belgorod oil depot on Kreid. Two workers were injured.

More than 300 firefighters, about 100 pieces of equipment, including a fire train and a helicopter, were involved in extinguishing a fire of an increased category of complexity.
