A 'hole' has appeared in sea defences in Sheerness, Kent, UK this morning (April 2) following several days of bad weather.

A section of sea wall protecting the town of Sheerness from flooding has been damaged / compromised by several days of strong (up to gale force) north-easterly winds and a surge tide yesterday (April 1) battering the coastal town.

Footage shows a large area of damage to the sea wall where many large protective flagstones have been washed out from the wall's protective fascia due to the enormous power of the sea and pounding waves - this is followed by footage captured a few days earlier (March 31) showing storm waves pounding the coastline and the masts of historic shipwreck SS Richard Montgomery which lies 1.5 miles north of Sheerness.
