This is the chaotic moment a bat sparked panic when it flew onto a plane full of passengers preparing for take-off.

The nocturnal stowaway flapped through the open door while guests were boarding the flight at the Bohol–Panglao International Airport in the Philippines on March 30.

Cabin crew aboard the Cebu Pacific flight told the pilot an animal intruder was inside the aircraft and they set about chasing it down the aisle.

Onlooker Raynan Rubia said: 'We were just leaving at that time around 6 pm for vacation when suddenly a bat landed on my foot and another was flying. We don't know how he came inside, it also took a few minutes before the staff got him.'

Staff spent several minutes shooing the creature out of the Airbus A320 before they were able to resume the pre-departure checks for take-off.
