New footage from Gostomel Airport near Kyiv reveals the scale of destruction caused by weeks of intense fighting for control of the strategically significant site.

Russian troops were ordered to abandon the airport on March 31 as part of the invading force's pull-back from the capital and surrounding areas.

Video captured on April 4 shows the mangled parts of military and other vehicles lying amid used shells.

In a hangar stands a destroyed Antonov An-225 Mriya—once the world’s largest cargo aeroplane.

Not included in the video are the extremely graphic images of the charred bodies of airport workers and soldiers who died in the fighting between the two sides.
