Incredible footage shows a daredevil swimming over 20 metres underneath a layer of ice on a frozen lake in High Tatras, Slovakia.

Boris Oravec is filmed as he plunges into the icy-cold water and can be seen through the ice as he makes his way to another hole.

"Watch me ice swimming at home in the High Tatras," Oravec said. "I try to live without limits and push my boundaries."

'Gone are the days when the phrase "playing with fire" used to be the closest synonym of "daring." Now, that distinction belongs to "swimming in ice."

Surfacing from the High Tatras in Slovakia, this video shows Boris Oravec being an absolute madman as he swims a whopping 22 meters in freezing-cold water.

The footage includes a breathtaking shot of the subject flawlessly swimming under the frozen surface, making for an impeccably staggering scene, something straight out of an action/adventure flick.

"Watch me ice swimming at home in the High Tatras," Boris said. "I try to live without limits and push my boundaries."
