The Pidakala War takes place annually in the village of Kurnool, India in the southcentral portion of the subcontinent and the festival is called that for its cow-dung cakes, known as pidakala.

The villagers divided into two groups and hurled cow dung cakes at each other during a procession of Hindu deity Lord Veerabhadra Swamy in an effort to promote prosperity and good health.
