Elephant herd strays into locality in eastern India
This is the fascinating moment a herd of elephants, including a calf, crossed the road at night at a human habitat in eastern India's West Bengal.
The incident took place in Jhargram district's Binpur village on April 6.
Visuals showed the herd crossing the road silently and hurriedly.
While locals are no strangers to the sight of elephants, the presence of the giant mammals triggers panic.
The elephants in the region often stray into the agricultural fields while relocating across forest covers, which results in a loss of crops.
