A Thai boy has become a hit after he was seen at a street protest doing football keep-uppies with a toilet roll.

Phumsak Puvanete, 16, started playing football freestyle when he was 10-years-old before using it as a way to busk on the streets to earn pocket money in Bangkok, Thailand.

A family friend suggested replacing the football with an unusual object to get people's attention - and Phumsak chose toilet rolls.

He has since become a regular fixture at busy locations around the Thai capital and attracted attention when he was regularly seen performing at anti-government protests.

The talented youngster said: 'I started busking from five to seven years ago when I was in grade 5. My family was having difficulty financially at that time.

'This income had helped to ease up the situation we were in along the way. I've been a footballer since I was young so it was easy for me.'

One of his go-to places for busking is the popular Silom, Central World, Siam, Jatujak market where he shows off new styles of football tricks.

He said: 'My dad's friend suggested using a roll of tissue to make it a new style. For footballers we normally only use football but with this idea, it was a pretty easy one to play with.

'For other people, they see that tissue roll has corner it should be more difficult to play with. In reality, once you got it it's pretty easy to play more.

The Manchester United fan added his dream is to become a professional player in the future.

He said: 'I have a dream to become a footballer working and living overseas.'
