Liberian man tries to smuggle USD 11 million contraband in suitcase cavity, arrested at Delhi airport

A Liberian national was arrested at Indira Gandhi International Airport in northern India's Delhi after customs officials recovered contraband worth several crores (millions in USD) from the individual.

The incident took place on April 4.

Visuals showed officials removing the false bottom of a suitcase to recover several packets.

According to reports, the packets contained cocaine.

The recovered contraband weighed 5.9 kilograms and is priced at Rs 90 crore (USD 11,859,660).

The male passenger was travelling from Lagos to Delhi via Doha.
