Kitchen cabinet falls over and crushes pensioner underneath
This is the shocking moment a kitchen cabinet fell over and crushed a pensioner underneath in Thailand.
The hungry old man was about to get himself a meal and was rummaging through the cabinet to find some plates and utensils in his family home in Kanchanaburi province on March 29.
While trying to pull himself up to stand, however, he unwittingly pulled the cupboard off-balance and came crashing down on him. Bowls, cups, and glass containers shattered when they fell, while the frail pensioner was pinned to the floor moaning in pain.
The noise alerted his wife, who then called their grandson for help. The young relative Prasam Chamnongsap rushed to the scene seconds after the incident and lifted the kitchen cabinet from his grandfather.
The stricken senior had to lie down for a few moments to recover before getting up to rest on a cushioned chair. He was not seriously hurt.
Prasam said: 'He must have been hungry, that's why he attempted to reach for the plates on his own. From now on, I will prepare meals for them to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.'
