Over 60 volunteers and 208 trained rescuers raced to clear the rubble from a demolished apartment building in Borodyanka, Ukraine on Friday (April 8), two days after the building was reportedly struck by Russian shelling.

Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky, together with the leadership of the State Emergency Service checked the progress of restoration work in Borodyanka and supplied workers with necessary equipment and machinery.

An estimated 200 people were buried in the rubble.

On the third day, 208 rescuers and 41 units of equipment work here. Now the main task is to dismantle the debris, clean the area from construction debris and search for the bodies of the dead.

The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs held a working meeting, at which the areas of emergency rescue operations were clearly identified. They also got acquainted with the organization of places for recreation and nutrition of personnel, providing the necessary equipment and machinery.

Separately, the Minister spoke with volunteers who help rescuers. Today, 60 Kyivans worked in Borodyanka on a voluntary basis.
