Tourists visiting the Dooars area in eastern India's West Bengal will now be able to experience the thrill of river rafting.

The Jaigaon Development Authority (JDA) in Alipurduar district inaugurated the adventure sport on the Torsha river on April 8.

Visuals showed senior officials taking part in the adventure sport.

According to reports, river rafting has been added to lure tourists to visit the area that lies close to the India-Bhutan border.

JDA Chairman Gangaprasad Sharma said river rafting has been started to give the tourists a varied experience in Jaigaon and Dooars area.

Local businesses have also approved of the new facility, stating that it'll help them grow.
