CCTV captures chilling moment armed miscreants attack men at market in northern India
A person suffered serious injuries after a group of armed miscreants attacked him as a fight broke out between two groups at a market in northern India's Punjab.
The incident took place in Valla Sabzi Mandi in Amritsar on April 8.
Visuals, captured on a CCTV camera, showed the armed men attacking two men with machetes.
Speaking to Newslions, Baljit Singh, a witness, said that the miscreants were instructed by Harjinder Singh and his son Rajjodh Singh to carry out the attack.
"They would have attacked me, but I saved myself by locking the door," Baljit said.
He said that one among the two injured, Rashpal Singh, suffered grave injuries and is presently in the ICU ward of KD Hospital in Amritsar.
The other injured has been identified as Vijay Sharma. Sharma too was rushed to the hospital with minor wounds. He was discharged after initial treatment.
Based on complaints, the local police station has registered an FIR against the father-son duo and the other miscreants.
They are presently on the run.
Baljit said that the father-son duo would often not pay him them while threatening him if asked for payment. On April 8, the issue spiralled out of control, leading to the duo and 10 others attacking Baljit and his men.
"They hired goons to attack us. I could not identify any of the outsiders," Baljit said.
