Activists gathered for an anti-war protest in Sofia in front of the Russian embassy on Saturday. The police wouldn't let them get to the building, so they doused the sidewalk around it with red paint. They laid out various toys and dolls as a symbol of the children who died during the war in Ukraine, and as a sign that the Russian army is responsible for the deaths of many children during the conflict.
Russian Russian Diaspora Anti-war Committee activists posted a “letter for embassy employees” stating that they could not represent the Russian people because “after February 24, they are supporters of Putin's fascist regime.” The letter also contained slogans such as “Russia will be free! Glory to Ukraine. Long live Belarus! No war”

“I have a feeling that I am in Russia and not in Bulgaria when I see such police behavior.”

Other protesters pasted uncensored stickers around traffic lights around the main entrance to the embassy on Dragan Tsankov Boulevard. The event was held in conditions of a strong police presence without any incidents, except for discussions between police officers and protesters.
