Man pierces nose with trident, covers body with crop-blanket during ritual in central India
Putting his devotion to test, a man was seen performing a ritual during the ongoing Navratri (a biannual Hindu festival that spans over nine nights) in central India's Madhya Pradesh.
The incident took place in Singhpur village, located in Rehli Tehsil of Sagar district.
Visuals shot on April 8 show the man lying on his back while being covered by a blanket containing crops. He also pierced his nose with a trident.
The devotee has been identified as Kamlesh Kurmi.
Devotees often undergo such experiences as an offering to Goddess Jagdamba.
