Obscure Kent beach rated 'sunniest' in South East, UK by Lloyds Pharmacy
Lloyds Pharmacy has rated an obscure Kent beach the 'sunniest' in South East England, second sunniest overall in the UK after 5.30pm, and third sunniest overall in a league table they've called 'UK's top 40 suntraps'.
Shellness beach at the far eastern tip of the Isle of Sheppey in Kent was pipped to the top spot by Hornsea beach.
Lloyds noted Shellness is a "Popular sunbathing spot - Top hidden gem", with an average sun time of over 15 hours a day in the month of May.
Shellness beach also unusually features a section for Naturists.
