A female snake catcher dragged a massive python out of a family's pond.

The skilful animal rescuer Ratha Tapianthong pulled the 13ft-long reptile from the mouth of a pipe submerged underwater in the yard in Ang Thong province, Thailand on April 8.

She responded to the resident’s home after the family reported that the snake had slithered through a water pipe in the property’s basement.

It was then found that the snake had been entering through the pond where the pipe was leading before it was caught by the team.

House owner Nontiwat Tosamrit, 31, said: ‘We were renovating our home and I saw a snake’s head poking out of the pipe but then it disappeared.

‘We followed the pipe and suspected that it could be coming from this pond. We told the rescuers about it and we were right, the snake was under the water.’

The pond was about 50cm deep where a large enough pipe could fit the massive snake, using it as a gateway into the home.

Rescuer Ratha said: ‘We waited until the snake emerged. It had to come out because they could not stay underwater for long. When its head emerged, I pulled it up with the help of the resident.’

The house owner thanked the rescuer who placed the large snake into a bag and released it back into the wild.
