A man living in South Jordan, Utah, rescued a little bird that had fallen out of a tree after a snowstorm hit the area.

Footage from April 12 captured by a doorbell camera shows two kids attempting to pick up the bird that was sitting on the pavement.

The homeowner saw this, let the kids go on their way and picked up the bird that had ice stuck on its wings.

The filmer said: "I initially didn't want to pick it up because I thought it was a baby, thinking the white on its wings was down feather.

"I was trying to contact a bird rescue when I saw a couple of kids approach it. After seeing the kids trying to pick it up, I went out to see if I could help out. A big thanks to those kids.

"I think it's a lesser goldfinch, juvenile female."

After having the ice removed from its wings, the bird contently stays on the filmer's hand for a while before flying off into a tree to greet its friend.
