A kind passerby fished out a rider's motorcycle after it fell into a dirty canal following a traffic accident in the Philippines.

Footage shows the man in green jumping into the polluted canal to retrieve the sunken NMAX scooter in Bacoor City, Cavite province on April 9.

Black filth can be seen bubbling up to the surface as he waded through the neck-deep water. He managed to tie the motorcycle to a rope and had other locals drag the vehicle up to the sidewalk.

Onlooker Relyn Francisco said: 'A motorist in front of the NMAX driver made a sudden right turn, which caused the motorcycle to fall into the canal since they couldn't pull the brakes in time.

'The rider and his passenger were both grateful to the man in green for helping them.'

The scooter was towed by traffic officers to a mechanic shop afterwards.
