This is the shocking moment tourists were attacked by locals during a mass brawl outside a strip club in Thailand’s Sin City red light strip.

CCTV footage shows how Italian holidaymaker Vincenzo Cammarata, 32, and Thai woman Waranya Sigari, 35, stopped on a motorcycle on Soi LK Metro in Pattaya, Thailand, on April 13 at 2am.

Attackers on a second bike appeared to punch Vincenzo before chaos erupted and several strip club guards joined in.

Video shows the men surrounded the group and launched dozens of kicks before stamping on them when they were knocked to the ground.

The fracas subsided before Vincenzo complained to the local police station that him and the woman were attacked.

Police arrested a number of people and are now investing the cause of the fight, which they fear could harm the country’s tourism industry still struggling to recover from the restrictions imposed by the recent Covid-19 pandemic.

Colonel Kulachat Kulchai, Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, said: ‘All of the suspects have been questioned on suspicion of physical assault.

‘We do not know the cause of the dispute but the actions show there was a large fight after this. Everyone involved will be prosecuted.

‘This can damage the image of Pattaya as a safe destination for tourists. Security guards should not become involved in fights.’

Police said the security guards who had been questioned said the fight happened after the bars and clubs had closed. They claimed that they joined in to try and break up the fight but where then attacked.

Colonel Kulchai said the investigations are ongoing and that those involved are likely to be fined and released.

Pattaya, a city on the east coast of Thailand, has become a notorious sex-tourism destination plagued with crime and corruption - with many British expats opening bars in the area that are staffed by poverty-stricken Thai women who work as prostitutes.
