Israeli police on Sunday entered the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem's Old City to secure the way for Jewish visitors to the flashpoint holy site, fueling clashes that left 17 Palestinians wounded, according to Palestinian medical workers.

The site has seen unrest and tensions over the past days as both Jews and Muslims observe import religious holidays, Passover and Ramadan.

The video shows Israeli police barring entry to Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque on Sunday (April 17) morning to allow Jews to visit before reopening it to Muslim worshippers for midday prayer.

SB 1(Arabic): "My wife is dead and we want to hold her funeral and pray for her but they're not allowing us in."

SB 2 (Arabic): "They're not letting anyone into al-Aqsa because [the police say] young men make trouble."
