A masked man broke into an hardware shop by breaking the lock and slipping through the shutter. After successfully stealing cash and goods he broke into a celebratory dance before slipping out of the shutter. Local residents said the dance was intended to tease the police as the hardware shop was located very close to the residence of the District Superintendent of Police. The incident took place on April 16 at Chandauli in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Police have taken up the challenge and are trying to catch the thief with the help of the CCTV footage. The shop owner Anshu Singh said cash of Rs six thousand rupees (USD 78) and many expensive items were missing from the shop. Local residents said a few days ago, thieves had broken into a bank which was also located close to SP’s house and stole lakhs of rupees and had similarly broken into a dance before escaping. “Thieves had become fearless due to poor law enforcement,” said a local resident.
