Chinese nurse gives daughter 'air hug' during Wuhan's 2020 lockdown
A nurse gave her emotional daughter an air hug during Wuhan's first lockdown in January 2020.
Filmed in front of a hospital in Zhoukou City, Henan Province, Liu Haiyan, a nurse on the front line of fighting against the pandemic, air hugged her 9-year-old daughter who came to deliver dumplings to her.
The daughter cried out, "mum" and her mother comforted her daughter by saying "mummy is beating the monster!”
When the video was filmed, Liu Haiyan had not been home for seven days from the first day of the Chinese New Year. She sent a message to her husband saying that she wanted to eat dumplings, so her husband took their daughter to deliver the dumplings.
Lockdown in Wuhan lasted for 76 days in total and it was also where the COVID-19 pandemic first began.
The video was filmed on January 31, 2020, and provided by local media with permission.
