This is the bizarre moment a thief was caught on a security camera at a hardware store in northern India doing a victory dance after stealing cash from the business.

The strange scene was captured on April 16 at a shop in Chandauli in Uttar Pradesh.

Footage shows the masked man searching behind the shop counter with a torch, presumably for items to steal.

Just before making his getaway by crawling out of the closed shutters, he stops right in front of the counter and dances for several moments while waving his hands in the air.

According to the shop owner, the thief stole 1,000 rupees (13 USD) and police are investigating.
