This is the moment a freak summer storm smashed through a shop in Thailand.

CCTV footage shows strong winds pushing shelves, boxes, and other items inside a shop in Tak province on April 18.

A store attendant could be seen trying to catch up with the shelf but it rolled across the road and crashed on the pavement.

Shop owner Punnaphat Anantalaphat said: ‘It was really scary. It was supposed to be hot for the summer but we were hit by a storm.’

The summer storm reportedly left two dead and thousands of houses damaged mainly in 11 provinces in the country’s northern region.

One villager died in Tak province while the other one resided in Chiang Rai. Injured residents were also reported after the storm.

In Bangkok, the Don Muaeng International Airport was also damaged after a terminal’s roof collapsed.
