A first-time mum who says her "watermelon" belly was so huge it would "cut off circulation" to her feet has gone viral after revealing her extreme swelling during pregnancy.

Natalia Donkoglov, 24, from South Carolina, US, took TikTok by storm after sharing photos of her gigantic stomach, carrying twins.

She found out she was pregnant with sons Benjamin and Isaiah during late 2020.

Having researched common pregnancy side effects, the mum-to-be expected some form of swelling in the last few weeks but was shocked when her feet swelled "to the size of sausages".

Her feet increased two shoe sizes and the situation was so bad, the stay-at-home mum was unable to wear anything except sliders.

Natalia, who was likened her stomach to having "two large watermelons" strapped to her body, was even unable to wear socks as it would cause her toes to balloon bigger.

"I thought I was going to pop," she told Jam Press.

"I could barely get around, I would get so tired so fast.

"My pregnancy was very hard and uncomfortable.

"I couldn't wear anything on my feet other than my Adidas slides that were two sizes bigger than my original size. Nothing else fit.

"If I tried wearing socks, they would just cause more swelling.

"I definitely thought my toes resembled little sausages.

"I had a lot of pain in my pelvic area, especially if I was on my feet for too long.

"Whenever I would sit down it felt like they were cutting off circulation to my legs.

"Towards the end of the pregnancy I had very very swollen legs, and now I have tiny stretch marks all over my legs.

"I was so nervous that I was going to get pre eclampsia but everything turned out okay.

"I just had a lot of swelling."

Natalia recently shared her experience on TikTok (@donkofam), where her clip has racked up 502,000 views, with social media shook up by the intense side effects.

One TikToker said: "This is my birth control for the rest of my life, haha no thank youuuuuuu [sic]."

"Okay I’m sorry for laughing that could not have been fun," wrote another user.

A third social media user recalled: "Ugh I remember the pain."

A fourth pregnant viewer added: "Ugggggh it’s marshmallow feet season for me too."

"Ugh I know that was tough. But I mean you get to sit all day? Haha sorry silver lining. My way to cope," added someone else."
