Palestinians inspected areas hit by overnight Israeli air strikes and shelling on Thursday 21 April.

Video showed one such location in the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

The strikes, in the early hours of Thursday morning, were in retaliation for a rocket fired from Gaza late on Wednesday night. No injuries were reported.

It was the second time in three nights the IDF have struck Gaza in response to rocket fire.

Omer Eslem, speaking in Arabic, said the warplanes fired two missiles at a site in Zaytoun neighbourhood, south of Gaza City, destroying it and causing fire. Residents nearby reported serious damage to their property.

Warplanes also fired two missiles at a location west of Nusseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, also causing damage to nearby homes.

The Israeli army also aimed artillery fire at land east of Khan Yunis in the south of the Gaza Strip, and at areas east of Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. No-one was injured in the shelling.
