Rescuers saved a dog whose head was trapped inside a clear plastic jar in Thailand.

Supriya Abvari, 29, called the animal team on April 3 after seeing the black-and-white stray roaming around a street in Chonburi province with its pack. Its head was stuck inside the plastic container and it was in danger of suffocating.

The scared pooch refused to allow anyone near it, so officers had to lure it with food before capturing it. Video shows the terrified stray crying and flailing on the ground as it was subdued by the team. A woman tried to comfort it while an officer cut the jar loose using a pair of scissors.

The dog was successfully rescued after an hour and was seen sprinting away after being freed.

Rescue worker Wicha Jindanil said: 'The rescue was difficult, but fortunately, the villagers came together to help. Otherwise, the dog would have died of suffocation.

'It was probably hungry and stuck its head inside the plastic jar hoping to find food, but it couldn't free itself.'
