This is the amusing moment a ‘stowaway’ wild monitor lizard was spotted hiding under a plane that was parked at an airport in Bangkok.

Footage shows the cheeky reptile trying to escape a worker after being caught between the wheels of the Airbus A320 operated by low-cost carrier AirAsia on April 10.

The wild creature then tried to hide under the next wheel, but another worker scared it off with a traffic cone.

Airport ground staff believe the reptile emerged from sewers nearby and scampered over to the planes.

The filmer joked: ‘It’s not strange to find animals in our airport, but this one might be a stowaway trying to hitch a free ride.’

The reptile was then chased by the workers outside the airport where it was safer away from the giant aircraft.
