At a morgue in Bucha, Ukraine, the task continues to identify all of the residents who died or were killed during Russia's month-long occupation of the town near Kyiv.

Bucha Mayor Anatoliy Fedoruk said on Saturday (April 23) that 412 victims have so far been identified. A total of 1,084 bodies have been found in the entire Kyiv region.

Video filmed on Friday shows scores of black or white body bags being carried on a forklift to refrigerated trucks at the local morgue.

“The morgue in Bucha has a flow of people searching for their loved ones, many having to look in multiple towns to try to identify [the dead],” said Newsflare’s filmer Oliya Scootercaster of FNTV (Freedomnews.tv). “Multiple refrigerator trucks are outside to assist with the overflow of the dead.”

In a report released on Thursday, New York-based Human Rights Watch said that Russian forces committed multiple apparent war crimes while occupying Bucha.

The organisation’s researchers spent days interviewing residents in Bucha and found evidence of summary executions, torture and enforced disappearances by Russian forces, they said.
