An elderly woman in iconic photographs of the slaughter in Bucha, Ukraine, was finally laid to rest on Thursday 21 April.

Bochok Nina Oleksyivna, 68, was buried by Pasternak Evgen Lyubomurovich, the husband of her niece. The ceremony was at a cemetery in Bucha, on the outskirts of Kyiv.

She had been shot by Russian forces that overran the town and who have since been accused of war crimes.

Photos of a dog standing beside the elderly woman's corpse at the entrance of a home, taken after Ukrainian forces had recaptured the town, became iconic images of the Bucha massacre.

A severely disabled woman she was caring for starved to death after Mr Oleksyivna was killed.

The husband of the woman's nice spoke about his family's grim search for her body, having to travel to different locations and see numerous corpses before finally finding his relative.
