This is the terrifying moment a powerful dust storm smashed into a music concert in Myanmar.

Organisers were preparing the stages with sound systems before a performance when the unexpected winds struck the event on Sunday, April 24, at around 2 pm.

Footage shows onlookers running for cover as the orange cloud of dirt fills the area in the town of Lay Myo Chaung in Rakhine State.

One of the organising team Than Maung Htay said: ‘All we could do was stop and let it pass. When the storm was weaker. We ran into shelters and hid until the weather was better.’

A dust storm, or a sandstorm, is a weather phenomenon when a gust or strong wind picks up the loose sand and dirt from a dried surface.
