Terrified shopkeeper finds two huge monitor lizards trying to break into building
This is the moment a terrified shopkeeper found two wild monitor lizards trying to break into the building.
Shop owner Nong May heard one of the Godzilla-like reptiles scratching on the glass door of the building in Bangkok, Thailand on April 25.
She walked over to the transparent entrance to scare away the wild animal, but was shocked to find another monitor lizard standing right behind it.
After seeing the woman, both the lizards skittered down the steps and ran away from the skincare cream shop.
Nong May said: 'I was scared when I saw the lizards trying to get inside. They are aggressive. I will make sure my door is shut so they can't get in if they come back.'
May watched back her CCTV and it showed the two beasts prowling around the building before casually walking up the steps and trying to get inside.
The creatures are believed to have wandered over from a nearby canal while looking for food.
Asian water monitor lizards normally live in canals, swamps, sewers and ponds in cities in Thailand. They feed on fish, snakes, frogs and scraps of food left by humans.
The reptiles are aggressive when threatened and have a mildly venomous bite which sometimes carries harmful bacteria.
