Power bank left charging overnight explodes inside home
This is the shocking moment a power bank that was left charging overnight exploded inside a home in Thailand.
The portable charger was left plugged at night while the owner was sleeping in Bangkok before the loud bang woke them up on April 24.
CCTV footage shows a small blast in the corner of a living room followed by flames which sparked fire in the electrical outlet.
No one was reported hurt and the fire did not spread to other parts of the house.
House owner Am Chonticha said: ‘I hope this serves as a warning to those who always leave their batteries charging at night. It isn’t safe, please be careful.’
Am Chonticha said she was shocked when she woke up the next morning to find her living room and kitchen filled with smoke. She checked the CCTV cameras to figure out what had happened.
She said: ‘I was just relieved that the fire died on its own and did not spread. It could have caught my curtain and burned my house while I was sleeping in my room.’
